AI is rewriting the infrastructure of everything. Healthcare, education, law, media, finance. The systems being built right now will define how the next generation learns, communicates, creates, and is protected. This is not a future event. It's happening.
The question most people are asking is: how do we use AI? The question I'm asking is: what do we train it on? What values get embedded into the architecture? What wisdom, if any, informs the systems shaping human experience at scale?
I believe this is the most exciting time to be alive and building. And I believe the organizations and people who approach AI with intention, not just speed, will be the ones who define what comes next.
That belief didn't come from a TED talk. It came from being inside the machine.
For over ten years, I worked alongside the teams developing the algorithms and designing the features that are now driving our mental health crisis. I was there when engagement became more important than wellbeing. When addiction became the business model. I watched brilliant people build systems that optimized for attention and called it innovation.
Midway through that journey, I made a choice: build the solution instead of optimizing the problem.
That choice led to Halo. Halo is the guardian layer for the engineers and AI agents building products that touch children. Every code change gets reviewed against the safety standards meant to protect kids before it ever reaches a child. The rules should be enforceable infrastructure, not aspirational PDFs.
Halo is the engineering arm of a longer thesis. Mindful Media Foundation is the prevention arm: a venture-philanthropy foundation that funds the research, backs the tools, and audits what organizations put in front of kids. Two ventures, one problem: the internet wasn't built for children, and now AI is writing the next layer of it.
The architecture I built for Halo (knowledge bases, compliance scanning, multi-jurisdiction monitoring) turned out to be the same architecture that law firms and professional services organizations need. So I started doing that work too. As an AI Chief of Staff, I embed with firms, build AI infrastructure around their institutional knowledge, and train their teams to use it. Not as a vendor. Not as a consultant. As someone who stays and grows the practice alongside them.
All of it connects. Children's safety, legal infrastructure, advisory work. The throughline is the same: build AI systems that are grounded in something deeper than data. Embed wisdom into the architecture, not just intelligence.
My approach is rooted in systems thinking and first principles reasoning. I have dyslexia, which I consider a genuine advantage. It lets me see patterns across domains that others miss and design systems that connect disciplines most people keep separate.
You'll find me recharging in nature, either by the beach or sitting on a rock in the desert. I play basketball and love cooking with friends.
